The origin of modern pizza can be traced back to the Neapolitan dish referred to as a Neapolitan pie with tomato. Since then there have been many different styles introduced into the world. Two of the more common styles in Italy are the Margherita. This is made with tomato sauce, sliced mozzarella, basil leaves and virgin olive oil. This particular dish offers numerous non-traditional toppings ranging from corn, potato wedges, sweet potato, shrimp and crab.

The providing of great food and customer service has allowed them to branch out into countries such as India and South Korea. Since their start they have established themselves as one of the premiere companies in the industry.
Another well known company is Papa Johns. Beginning in 1984 the company began small and grew to a worldwide contender of this always growing industry. By delivering on a promise to deliver a quality product for a competitive price they have quickly established their spot within the pizzeria industry.
In 1960 a new company named Dominoes made its debut. Since that time they have become recognized as one of the top three companies worldwide. By offering quality customer service, home delivery and a great product they have been able to grow and expand throughout the United States and into other global markets.
There are a couple of frozen lines that have made a name for themselves. The first being Digiorno; which offers pizzeria quality pizza that can be purchased at a store and cooked at home. The other big name from the frozen line is Red Baron. Both lines offer reasonable prices and excellent quality along with multiple options.
Pizza has evolved into a worldwide cuisine and continues to be a staple food for the world. Since there are so many different varieties of crust, toppings and styles the possibilities are endless. With the addition of Pizza franchises the industry has grown by leaps and bounds and continues to grow every day.
